Rene Kittle serves as the Director of Academic Success at Salish Kootenai College (SKC), where she co-leads strategic initiatives dedicated to supporting students throughout their educational journey. As a proud first generation graduate of SKC who went on to earn her Master’s degree from the University of Montana, Rene brings a “full-circle” perspective to her leadership, understanding the unique landscape of tribal higher education.
Rene’s professional foundation is built on a diverse range of instructional and administrative roles. Her career includes impactful work in community education and experience as an Associate Faculty member at the university level. These roles have provided her with a comprehensive view of the learner experience for all ages from the community classroom to more formalized programs.
In her current role, Rene focuses on student services in furtherance of academic persistence. She is passionate about helping create support systems that remove barriers and empower students to reach their full potential. By combining her pedagogical background with a heart for student advocacy, Rene helps students at Salish Kootenai College by sharing the tools, resources, and encouragement necessary to achieve their academic and professional goals.
