Tisha Townsend (she, her, hers, ella) received her bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) in Modern Language (Spanish) and is currently pursuing her Master of Modern Language (Spanish) at the University of Colorado, Denver. She is currently the Associate Director of TRIO Student Support Services at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she has had the pleasure of working with TRIO students for the last four years. At MSU Denver, she has served as the chair of the Microaggressions Awareness Campaign since 2018. As a member of this committee, she has lead trainings with other committee members across campus to faculty, staff, and students. She also was honored to serve as President of the Latino/a Faculty and Staff Association from 2019 to 2021. She is passionate about supporting first-generation, low-income and students with disabilities through their educational journey and helping empower them to learn self-advocacy.
