Sean Jaster, Assistant Director Upward Bound Colorado State University
For the past 12 years, Sean has worked supporting an Upward Bound Classic grant at Colorado State University. He has a passion for facilitating small and large group conversations about equity, inclusion, and diversity and is especially motivated to work with folx who share his privileged identities. He has led over 30 domestic and international cultural immersion experiences with high school and college students and has an extensive background in experiential education. As a cis-hetero white man, Sean works to hold himself and others accountable for dismantling systems of oppression. He has helped to develop a curriculum for short campus diversity and inclusion training as well as multi-day diversity education retreats for college students. Additionally, Sean has taught courses at Colorado State University in service-learning, identity development, and inclusive excellence.
He holds a BS from Colorado State University in Biology and a MA from Prescott College in Adventure Education. He learns daily about strength, persistence, and compassion from his two daughters in their hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado.
