Andrea Reeve is a retired TRIO Director; COE Consultant, and current faculty in Colorado State University Student Affairs Master’s Program (SAHE), coordinates the CSU-COE College Access and Success Programs Graduate Certificate, and teaches Student Affairs Ethical Considerations, Foundations of College Access and Success Programs, and College Opportunity Programs Practice. Andrea currently is and has been faculty for COE National Proposal Writing Workshops for all TRIO grant proposals since 1998 and has presented numerous Proposal Writing Workshops for SSS, Talent Search, EOC, McNair and Upward Bound at regional conferences.
Andrea participates as faculty for multiple COE Technical Assistance-Compliance, On-Boarding, OMB Guidance, Legislation and Regulations, and SSS Start Up and has been involved with TRIO association leadership activities beginning with ASPIRE President, COE Board Finance Committee, COE Board Treasurer, Conference Program Chair) and represented COE on the Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) providing leadership for writing and revising the CAS TRIO and Other College Access Programs Standards and Guidelines, and recently 2020 was appointed to the CAS Standards Management Committee (reviewing new and revised standards).
Andrea began her TRIO career in 1983 as Coordinator of University of Wyoming Upward Bound, Talent Search and EOC. Working with EOC’s was the motivation to learn more about adult learning and education, leading to an ABD in Adult and Postsecondary Education. Dedicated to improving educational access and opportunity for underserved students throughout her professional career, from 1968-2013 and in semi-retirement, Andrea served as volunteer in the national Teacher Corps in Kentucky from 1968-70, taught middle and high school in remote areas of Alaska (1970-1976), Directed the UWYO SSS and Student Educational Opportunity Learning Center, directed First-Year Programs at UWYO (including 70+ freshman seminars), directed the COE National TRIO Clearinghouse at the Pell institute (1997-2004), and as Director of SSS at Colorado State University (2005-2013).
Andrea is a recipient of the COE Walter O’ Mason Award, the ASPIRE Art Quinn Award, the College in Colorado Cynthia Gayles College Access Service Award, and the Friend of WESTOP award for volunteer proposal writing and technical assistance presenting to the WESTOP Pacific Island TRIO Programs.
